Dawn Until Dusk

Evening Everyone! Today, I have a simple but effective manicure to show you, inspired by Summer meadows in the rosy light of dawn or dusk. Rather than painting a realistic image, I decided to create more of an impression of those few moments when the sun is at a particular point in the sky. For once it came out just as I intended! I started off by painting all my nails with Barry M 'Rosehip' , a beautiful and refreshing pale pink. It's on the sheer side, but is actually rather lovely to paint with! Nice and creamy :) Then, using a thin striping brush and Rimmel 'Euphoria' , I painted in rough stems and grass for the background. 'Euphoria' is a sheer pink toned light brown colour with fine pink shimmer, making it perfect for the effect I had in mind! The sheerness means it's not overpowering so great for background foliage, and the shimmer gives the plant stems a rosy hued light. Still using the striping brush, I added in a few more str

Inspiration: Delicate Blush

A Good Evening To You All!! One of my favourite colours at the moment is blush pink. It's so delicate and lovely, especially as silk, chiffon or lace fabric. I definitely have a soft spot for lacy, soft clothing! The rest of the world seems to think so too as I've found plenty of inspirational images on Pinterest :) Aw, so many pretty images! I can't wait to start some nail art inspired by them as it's going to be a bit of a challenge with such a limited colour palette. It's going to be fun! Thanks for reading!! Kayleigh :)

The Elements

Hey There!! I'm in two minds about the manicure I'm about to show you; I can't decide whether I like it or not! I wanted to do some geometric nail art featuring various sized triangles, representing a few of the elements (water, earth and air). A tad bit overambitious for such a tiny canvas maybe.... I started this manicure by painting all my nails in Zoya 'Dillon' . Ahh, this is such a beautiful colour! Every time I use a Zoya nail polish, it reminds me how much I love them. A super formula and stunning but unusual colours. They really are special and worth every penny! Then, using my thinnest striping brush. I started to block in the triangles using Barry M 'Cappucino' (dusky brown) for 'earth', OPI 'No Room For The Blues' (sky blue) for 'water' and OPI 'I Have A Herring Problem' (blue-grey with silver shimmer) for 'air'. On my 'earth' triangles, I painted rough lines and dashes in the fo

Abstract By Nature

Good Afternoon! While perusing Pinterest recently, I came across some great geometric prints inspired by nature which I used in my last 'Inspiration' post. One of the geometric mountain prints stuck with me so I decided to use it for some nail art! I altered the colour scheme slightly, using lighter and brighter colours- more Spring-like. I started by painting my accent nails (index and pinkie) with China Glaze 'Dress Me Up' (pink toned brown) and the rest of my nails in Barry M 'Coconut' (cream). Over China Glaze 'Dress Me Up' , I dabbed on a couple of coats of L.A. Girl 'Splash' . This is a clear based glitter topper with satin white and mint green hex glitters. On the rest of my nails I used a thin striping brush and China Glaze 'At Vase Value'  (bright but pale mint) to paint large triangles. I repeated this step with China Glaze 'Dress Me Up' , forming a geometric pattern. I then added in small acc
