Gemstone Polish

Hey All!! The idea behind today's nail art is based on two things; 1) an awesome L'Oreal glitterbomb, and, 2) a very cool  advert by Sony !! I mean it's thousands of petals exploding out of a VOLCANO- how amazing ?? So to combine these beauteous things, I opted for glitter accent nails (because, duh!) and exploding dots of colour :)   I decided to use OPI 'Skull & Glossbones' as my base colour as I think the grey-beige hue goes with the mostly silver glitter in the glitterbomb. Skull & Glossbones is a great and unique base for nail art :)   On my pointer and pinkie nails I added just one (!!!) coat of L'Oreal Color Riche 'Sequin Explosion' . This is not your usual multi-coloured glitter as it's mostly silver hex glitter with shots of pink, emerald green, yellow gold, blue and indigo hex glitter. It's SO shiny! Good Evening Everyone!! Happy Easter people! :) I hope you are all stuffing yourselves with chocolate eggs and enjoying the long weekend!! It's Easter so that means (of course) it's time for some Easter-themed nail art. :) As per usual, my idea of an Easter manicure involves chocolate browns and pastels;   Sometimes simple and clean is all you need for a big impact so this time I opted for some random stripes. I started off with Champneys 'Mocha' which is a gorgeous rose-brown truffle colour- yum!   Then using my thinnest striping brush and various pastel nail polishes, I painted on thick and thin stripes on each nail. The nail polishes I used were; China Glaze 'Highlight Of My Summer' (pastel neon green), Revlon 'Blue Lagoon' (shimmery pastel blue), 17 'Sherbet Lemon' (pastel yellow) and 17 'Parma Violet' (lilac). The stripes were pretty easy to do with some practice, by the time I'd done a few, it was fine!

Hello People!! Our final stop on the Pinterest expedition train is the very snazzy artwork of Garima Dhawan ! In particular, I really like this image :) I love the amorphous feel of the flower shapes and the unexpected colour scheme. I would never have thought of putting these colours together but it somehow works!! The background in the original image is a very pale sandy beige but I chose a more grey tinted beige as it suits my skin better! I used OPI 'Skull & Glossbones' for this-it's a great base for nail art. I used a medium sized detail brush and different coloured nail polishes to paint on the flowers. It was pretty easy once I'd done a couple as the flowers are quite roughly shaped- yay! The main nail polishes I used were; Barry M 'Spring Green' (a much brighter grass green than the photos show), Essie 'Coat Azure' (shimmery blue), Barry M 'Cyan Blue' (bright blue), Barry M 'Passion Fruit' (coral red) and 17

Hey There!! First off, let me explain that tonight's nail art was an experiment so the outcome could definitely benefit from some improvement!! Lately, I haven't been able to paint my nails and I was suffering some serious withdrawal......so I had to do something . I meant to do a simple glitter sandwich but ended up messing around with it. Ahem. I started with a couple of coats of Champneys 'Nude' which is part of a set that I got for Christmas. When I originally swatched this nail polish, I was just 'meh' about it but on my actual nails it's rather pretty!   Then (without any plan whatsoever ) I dabbed on Barry M Limited Edition 'Silver Glitter' in a sort of ruffian on each nail. I also added Barry M 'Diamond Glitter' in dabs over the smaller silver glitter.   I painted on another coat of Champneys 'Nude' to get that 'glitter sandwich' effect.
